Taylor's research focuses on the interpretation, use, and response to weather risk and probabilistic information for a variety of weather hazards (severe convective, winter, etc.) and user groups. This includes testbed research with future technologies in the Hazardous Weather Testbed and in post-event fieldwork studies. Taylor's testbed research incorporates emergency managers' perspectives of experimental products and how they can be improved to meet user needs. Her fieldwork experience involves engaging with a variety of decision makers including emergency managers and responders, forecasters, and the public, to understand communication processes before, during, and after severe weather events.
